Graphics that climb
The Wallcreeper motion system: four behaviours of one line. Information climbs a route in reading order, clips to its anchor the moment the line arrives, and the rope comes tight behind it. On wide formats the same climb runs sideways.
01Three posters, one engine
Campaign posters

The wallcreeper, Tichodroma muraria, is grey so it vanishes against the rock and crimson when it opens its wings. So the brand is rock coloured, with one flash of lichen yellow, and every layout is a route: a start, a few bolts, a finish. All three posters are drawn by the same code from the same rules, with nothing placed by hand.

Geist Mono for facts. Instrument Serif Italic for the promise, once per layout. Geist for headlines. The drawn lettering is only ever the logo.
03Three loops for the phone
Motion, 9 x 16Each loop ends by lowering off: the line runs back down and the clips let go from the top, so the loop restarts where it began. They are the same scenes as the posters at another shape, laid out again for 9 by 16 rather than cropped.
04Four behaviours, one line
Motion behaviour- ASCEND
- Information climbs a route in reading order. One pitch per beat: 70 percent moving, eased in and out, 30 percent holding at the bolt. The payoff is always at the top.
- GRIP
- Whatever belongs to a bolt clips to it the moment the line arrives: a short reach back along the route, a snap about 8 percent past its place, a lock. 0.34 seconds, the same everywhere.
- TENSION
- The pitch being climbed hangs slack behind the line, a tenth of the rope out, and comes tight on GRIP's spring when it is clipped, with one small twang. Only the line bends. Letters are never stretched.
- TRAVERSE
- On billboards, banners and 16 by 9, the same climb runs left to right. Each fact drops onto its bolt and hangs below it. Nothing scrolls: the line moves, the information stays where it was clipped.
05The same climb, sideways
Billboard, 16 x 7A roadside board is read at speed and from the side, so the route turns to run the way the eye already moves. The same four scenes that make the posters and the phone loops make this one: same tempo, same clip, same rope. Only the direction and the hang change.

Operations
A system that only makes posters is a costume. The same grammar runs the packing slip: packed at the start, one bolt per line item, the care instructions near the top, the seal at the finish. It prints on one colour, fits A6 and needs nothing from a designer to fill in.
08How the four were found
ProcessFour verbs came from climbing: grip, ascend, traverse, tension. The first versions of the last two failed. Traverse slid words sideways along a line and read as a news ticker; tension stretched the type on a rope and broke the one rule the identity keeps, that letters are never distorted. Both came back as behaviours of the line rather than of the words: the rope goes slack and comes tight, and the route turns sideways on wide formats while everything it carries stays still.
Before any of this, fifteen logo studies under a different name were rejected as not good enough, and the brief changed to a single drawn creature. The seal came out of that second round.
What you are looking at
Wallcreeper is a self-initiated concept, not a trading company, and no product has been made. Everything on this page, the motion engine, the posters, the loops, the billboard, the playground and the route card, is drawn in code from the same four behaviours; the code was written with AI assistance, directed and checked by Ridge Nelson. The brand itself, its strategy, packaging, storefront, films and book are in the Wallcreeper case.
